As the Technical Services Manager, Equipment Maintenance, you will play a key role in the strategic and operational management of our organization. You will be responsible for leading a team dedicated to the reliability, availability and performance of our equipment, stations and bikes, while leading the plan to upgrade expiring or obsolete equipment.

Reporting to the General Manager, your mission will include resolving equipment performance issues, as well as optimizing and modernizing maintenance processes, in particular by integrating maintenance functionalities into our new ERP system. You will play a central role in achieving our strategic objectives in terms of productivity, cost and quality.

What you will do:

Strategic leadership and financial management

  • Cost optimization. Design and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of maintenance operations while controlling repair and spare parts costs.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the efficiency of equipment and teams.
  • Prepare the department’s annual budget.
  • Possess strong strategic skills to lead strategic initiatives under their responsibility and participate in new product or business development projects in line with the organization’s strategic planning.
  • Maintain strong relationships with BIXI’s current and future key suppliers to ensure beneficial co-development of software and equipment, and anticipate technological developments.

Team leader and collaborative manager

  • Provide mobilizing leadership for the management and supervision of a team of approximately 60 employees, mainly seasonal, divided into 4 activities:
    1. Maintenance service for active stations ;
    2. Station upgrades and assembly;
    3. Station relocation;
    4. Bike maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other managers to ensure interdepartmental consistency for the deployment and removal of equipment at the beginning and end of the season, as well as for the expansion of the BIXI network in Greater Montreal or in new territories.
  • Ensure the training, development and improvement of team members;
  • Encourage teamwork, initiative, excellence and employee commitment;
  • Act as a representative of the company by demonstrating respect for established values.

Technical expertise

  • Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Establish effective schedules to minimize equipment downtime and maximize performance.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to solve problems related to existing equipment and the integration of new equipment versions.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve the user experience and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of a new ERP module for station maintenance management, as well as the development of bicycle preventive maintenance functionalities.
  • Draft and update departmental standards, procedures and policies in collaboration with other departments.

Job requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role, including at least 3 to 5 years as a manager.
  • Experience with an ERP system (Microsoft Business Central, SAP or Oracle) and ideally in the deployment of an ERP system.
  • Proficiency in the Office Suite and proven ability to use technology.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and safety standards and regulations.
  • Experience in mobility and transportation would be considered an asset.
  • Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written.

  • A keen sense of planning and organization, and the ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to plan for the short, medium and long term, particularly in a growth context.
