BIXI Montréal is a key player in sustainable mobility in the Montreal metropolitan area, with a network now including more than 10,000 bikes and 900 stations in seven cities. 

 

Our vision is to transform the urban experience through active, accessible, innovative, and collaborative mobility. Created in 2014 by the City of Montreal, BIXI Montréal is a non-profit organization that manages the bike-sharing system in the greater Montreal area.

As a Sustainable Mobility  Project Manager, you will play a central role in optimizing and ensuring the sustainability of our bike fleet.

Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the you will be responsible to: 

 

  • Set up, coordinate and supervise new teams dedicated to bicycle maintenance directly in the field, based in external repair workshops (Carrefour BIXI)

  • Ensure the proper deployment and optimization of BIXI hubs, guaranteeing effective coverage of maintenance needs.

  • Establish close collaboration with Cyclochrome , our main subcontractor, to improve the performance and quality of repairs.

  • Structure and update maintenance plans for bicycles and new mobility products in the new ERP, integrating analytical data for proactive management.

  • Develop a dashboard and tracking reports to analyze bicycle reliability, assess spare parts effectiveness and optimize maintenance processes.

  • Propose and implement improvements to optimize the quality and durability of bicycles and other mobility products.

  • Manage the life cycle of bicycles, by piloting the commissioning of new models and the dismantling of end-of-life bicycles.

  • Carry out control tests on repairs carried out, to ensure high quality standards.

  • Manage and coordinate innovative projects related to the improvement of our fleet and new equipment

  • Manage and follow up on vandalism cases with the relevant institutions

  • Carry out any other related tasks aimed at improving the overall performance of the BIXI service.

Job requirements

Education and experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design or other related training. 

  • Project management training or equivalent experience. 

  • Maintenance management 

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar position.

  • Solid technical knowledge in the cycling field

  • Bilingual (French and English).
